While I am re-configuring the codes and making them easier, as (package deals) ...
I decided to take a break, and ~ re-skin some planes in WT to represent the Strike Witches aeroplanes ... however ... they're not - "itasha's" - where the character images are used Ad nauseum...
(plus) ~
I'm really - "not into" - the whole itasha thing anyway...
¬ I mean, nothing wrong with it, not to take away from the creative and original ideas (on some) - but imo - some are just plane garish, with no thought given to the layout, and I (also) think they kinda overwhelm many players with the overuse of the images when they're presented on forums and such... so I reconfigured them to my personal tastes and standards.
Granted, many will not like them - but I do - and that's where it counts the most - (besides) - whose going to see them anyway? - their client-side.
¬ So, I used the icons, decals, and insignia placements that were found on the - "Strike Witches Alter figure representations" - to get the details required for these skins...
Here's what I personally completed for my collection:
¬ As you can see I like to keep my standard of mixing historical with anime and I personally think the effect looks wonderful.
~ Though (admittedly) some are not accurate...
¬ this is due to the availability of the planes (in-game) in which some are not found/seen or have been added yet - and I also have yet to - "unlock" - the proper ones, which are needed to complete the entire (original SW set) , but (unlock) I will ...
I'm also going to include in my collection several (other) plane configurations from the other witches that are identified in the SW World/Universe.
What does this - "have to do with - "WoT x GuP?" - you query?
The skinning of the WT planes allows me to study a different aspect of skinning, which differs than what it is to WoT, though similar in many respects, just a slight difference is experienced.
Especially with the crash modelles, in which I simply can't get a grasp on (yet), as I tried the WoT approach for it, but they didn't take (for some reason).
~ I need to figure this out in order to satisfy my need for learning..
Doing this also allows me to be prepared for any occasion, in which there might be change in the way skinning is to be completed, because if one always (stays) using the regular methods, then it defeats the purpose of challenging oneself, of learning new techniques, creativity and also kills inspiration.
Anyway, a break was needed to keep the mind fresh, so I'll get back to skinning the GuP universe once again also...
BTW, for those who are following (and) reading these entries...
A HUGH SURPRISE is coming down the lines soon for GuP ~ ~ ;)
But, for now I'm following OPSEC/PERSEC guidelines..
Respects o7
